I went in to get dental crowns, and the first phase was done, and i have temporaries now. My dentist just called back and says that my real crowns just came in.
During my first phase they game me novacaine shots because they were gonna drill my teeth. But when they take out my temporary crowns and place the real ones in, will I have to get another novacaine shot.? Health Question & Answer

No, the seating process is much much easier than the prep. They should just take your temporaries off and place the permanent crowns in their place. Normally you won't need to be numb unless your teeth are extra sensitive.Health Question & Answer
You don't have to but i would recommend it. Most of the enamel will have been removed exposing dentine which is highly sensitive. The temp crowns can be a bit stubborn to get off and this in itself can be painful.
You could try without then if it gets too painful ask for a shot. Depends on your pain threshold really.Health Question & Answer

I had mine last year.As far as i can remember: Yup you will get that shot. And you will hav to go through that funny lips feeling. Good luck with the pain.Health Question & Answer
