If a person gets veneers will they make gums dark?!

Question: If a person gets veneers will they make gums dark.?
You know how people can tell if someone has fake teeth, because it looks dark on the gums.? Well does that same thing happen with veneers.? Why is it that the gums get dark.? is it something that just happens or is it because the person doesn't clean their fake teeth often or properly.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The dark at the gums is from a crown made from porcelain and metal. (You can see the metal part.) If you do need a crown, then make sure you get the all porcelain kind--that way, it will not be dark and will look natural.

As for veneers, these are made from the same thing that cavities get filled with. They do not result in any dark colors by the gums. They may, however, stain at the edges eventually.Health Question & Answer

The reason that the gums gets dark on "fake" teeth (crowns). Is because there is metal under the tooth coloring. On veneers there isn't any metal underlayment. If you have to have a crown done though you could ask for a crown with out metal under it which would solve the dark gum problem. Few names for those it a Procera or Lava.Health Question & Answer

go with the Porcelain caps, those are the best. Many of those of those other caps are made out of metal or have metal liners but Porcelian caps don't have that. Plus it's so easy to get porcelain caps, they put this purple gel stuff on your teeth then they put the cap on, and that's it! Sometimes porcelain caps can cost more though, but not much, maybe $50-100 different but trust we it's worth it!Health Question & Answer
