I believe it does exist and I am angered that dentists try to cover this up. I suffer day in and day out from damage done while having a root canal and the dentist does not want to admit there is a problem. He seems to think it's all in my head. I have gone to many other dentists and they only want to treat me with TMJ or some other kind of problem. Of course this is costing me $$$ so I've given up on these guys and just have tried to learn to live with it but let me tell you it's not easy. The pain at times makes me feel like a mad woman. I sure would love to have some help on this if anybody else is going through this.

It's a possible side effect from a class of drugs called bisphosphonates used to treat osteoporosis, Paget's disease, and some cancers. The risk is less when the drugs are in pill form, greater when administered by IV. It is a very real and very painful condition.Health Question & Answer

Are you presently taking one of the bisphosphanate medications for osteoporosis.? Most often osteonecrosis is caused by either radiation or one of these drugs. Good Luck
BTW...as you know it is a very real condition.Health Question & Answer
