How do i handle this dentist...?!

Question: How do i handle this dentist....?
Over a year ago i started going to this dentist. he wasnt the friendliest person, but he got the job done and is really close to my house, so i kept going. well, a filling i had not quite a year fell out, and the one across from it which id had about 6 months at the time, had a piece chipped off. i went in and asked about a reduced if not free replacement of the shoddy work, and was told that there would be a full charge. he replaced the lost one, but only "buffed" the chipped one. no additonal putty was even added when i really thought it should be replaced seeing as how it had only been a few months and it was already cracked. but..im not the dentist. however, last night the filling that he assured me only a month ago was just fine, fell completely out. i was talking, and it just came right out, and this is not a small filling. id say it was about 80% of my tooth. so i called and told them, and she said to come on in but that there would be a charge because they'd have to build the tooth. I told her that i couldnt believe they'd charge me after having so many issues with his work ( one of the front teeth he "fixed" now has to have a root canal ) and especially after me requesting it be replaced last time and him saying no, it was fine to essentially just cover up the flaw instead of fixing it. so, i thought about going in and letting him replace it, then fighting the bill in court. but thats a big chance to take, especially in this tiny town where the rich stick together. for all i know he and the judge are best buddies and i dont stand a chance. i dont want to take the chance that if i do loose, i have to pay for his crappy work. If i do have to pay, im obviously going somewhere else. there are not only cheaper places but places im sure have more quality in their work. so should i go somewhere else and then fight for the first dentist to be responsible for all the charges of replacing his faulty cavity.? or should i just go somewhere else and pay and call it a lesson learned.? i dont think you can call the BBB on a dentist can you.? do they answer to anyone.? any suggestions would be appreciated, as Im completely clueless right now. Please report him to the ADA (American Dentist Association) and don't plan on going back to him. Look online and see if he is registered with the BBB and if so, report him. Write a nice letter to the ADA stating your case or any of the agecies listed in the links provided. If you have insurance, make sure you make a complaint to them also. Make sure you carbon copy this knuckelhead with every letter your write, but don't ever go back to him. Make sure you request restitution (a return of your money). I hope you have your receipts. Incompentence should not be tolerated ever. Good luck my friend. Be strong and do it! Review these:Health Question & Answer

well personally I wouldn't go back to this dentist.. Hes obviously not very good at what he does.. why would you let him near your mouth again knowing that he has screwed it up repeatedly.. find someone better get it fixed and pay for it (bascially call it a lesson learned) but I think you should report him to the ADA( American Dental Association) not really sure what they will do but thats who the denstists answer to....I had a dentist a while back that was really good but I had an abcess (which I thought was a bad cavity) and he didnt work on saturdays so I reluctantly went (because I couldn't stand the pain) and I saw his dad (they were in practice together) his dad did a filling in one tooth ( I had the abcess in another tooth that was actually already a crown so i ended up having to have a root canal Not fun let me tell ya) but anyway I had another cavity so he filled that one and chipped one of my other teeth in the process.. well I called and said he chipped my tooth while filling another tooth I want his son to fix it . I got told if I wanted it fixed, I had to see him because he was the one who (i said) was at fault.. I never went back.. I refused to let him touch my mouth again.. ( i'm extremely wary of who touches my mouth as I don't like dentists.... it seems to me everytime I go into one they tell me I have more cavities that need to be filled and I HATE needles. )Health Question & Answer

i don't know about america( if that's where you are) but i'm in australia and if you get a filling and it comes out in less than a year, that dentist/ dental clinic is responsible to fix it for free.

i wouldn't go that dentist any more. and yes you should report him to the dental association. they will review him and if they find a good enough case, they can do something about it.
