It is really uncomfortable to get them on, the ortho is always strecthing you lips and stuff, but it doesnt hurt.
Afew hours after getting them it'll hurt, and get worse throughout the day.
Take some ibprofen before youre appt, it works wonders =]
It hurts for a week or two after getting them, then every month when you get them tightened, it'll hurt a little, but not like when yiouu first got them on.
Get any colors, except yellow and green. Those look like you have food in your teeth. (i learn the hard way lol)
Darker colors like black can make your teeth look way whiter.
Pinks and reds are classics :)
I had teal almost all the time, it was just my preference.
I also wanted to mix things up,
so i had all teal on the top, and alternated pink and teal on the bottom.
Just have fun with them =]
And soon you'll have gorgeous teeth!

Getting them on doesn't hurt, but when they tighten them it does. It doesn't matter what color, I change mine every appointment and try to get the holiday colors (like before Christmas I'd get red and green) At first you'll have to eat like jello and applesauce, but your teeth will get used to the braces quickly. i am getting some on dec. 1st. i have already got the brackets and the spacers which do not hurt at all. the wire is what hurts the most which i havent gotten yet. it doesnt hurt like hell though. my friend told me hers only hurt when she ate...

I have really sensitive teeth so i thought they hurt a lot. Everyone I know that has had braces said that there mouth was sore for a few days-weeks. I'd suggest eating soft stuff like yogurt for the first few days. Anyways.. I'd get your favorite color.Health Question & Answer
They only hurt for about 2 days after you get them because your teeth are getting used to something being put onto them.

Your mouth will be sore for a day or two after they get adjusted, but it's nothing that you can't manage with a little Tylenol, Alleve, Advil, etc.
