Is it normal for my teeth to be sensitive after getting my braces off?!

Question: Is it normal for my teeth to be sensitive after getting my braces off.?
I just got my braces off today and I am so happy!!

However, when he was using the drill to get the glue off, it killed!! It hurt almost all of my teeth when he was doing that. I'm not sure if my teeth were sensitive to the cold.? Air.? I squeezed the arms of the chair so hard. And after I was shaking uncontrollably--very bad.

And certain things make them hurt. Like something cold.

So is it normal for my teeth to be sensitive right now.? I know my gums are because they are swollen and bleed when I brushed my teeth.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes, absolutely. When I got my braces off, it hurt so badly, they had to do it in two sessions. I feel for you, I really do. Take some mild pain reliever, like motrin or tylenol, pamper yourself, and eat lukewarm soup and soft bread for a day or two.

Having a great smile is totally worth the pain!Health Question & Answer
