I have to wait for my husband to get me on insurance and the process will take a month. I know I have a small cavity on my back tooth its not black but its a small hole. Do you think if I keep it clean and no sugar I can wait for a month without it getting bigger. Health Question & Answer

A month should be okay, but don't wait too long. It may look like a small hole on the outside, but it could be very deep inside. It only takes a small opening for the cavity to get inside your tooth and eat away.

What you could do is get a dental discount plan for the time being and get the tooth taken care of. There is no waiting limit on most of them and then you can cancel after your other insurance kicks in. They are really cheap plans and can save you up to 80%.
If you wait and you don't start taking something for the infection it can spread throughout your other teeth and can lead to the brain and kill you. I dont' want to scare you but it is true and lot of people don't realize that it can happen and does happen. It happened to a 10 year old little boy who had an abscess.
