Jaw, chin, cheeks, lips, ears, temple... still numb, why?!

Question: Jaw, chin, cheeks, lips, ears, temple... still numb, why.?
I had my two lower wisdom teeth plus one other removed today. I went under general anaesthesia and was sleeping the entire time. When I woke up, my jaw, lower lip, tongue, cheeks, ears, temple and even up to the top of my head were numb.
I have regained feeling in my tongue and the numbness that trailed up to the top of my head has worn off too... but all the above listed are still numb and its making me nervous. The surgeon said it would take 6-10 hours for it to wear off and its been 10 hours already and I'm still completely numb in those spots. Should I be worried.?Health Question & Answer

i would say that you're okay, because when i had mine done two weeks ago, my surgery was finished by 4:00. one side of my face was completely numb. by the time i went to bed that night, around 11:30, some of the feeling had been restored but i still had some numbness when i went to sleep. the next morning all feeling was back, and i had no more problems with numbness. hope this helps!Health Question & Answer

Dude I had a maxillofacial surgey in which they also took out 2 of my wisdom teeth but mostly they cut my jaw moved it forward and secured it with screws. Now i'm familiar with the numb feeling but i mostly had it in the chin area it's still a little numb after 3 months. Your surgery was most likely on smaller scale and nerves from those teeth got either stretched or broken or just tampered with. Yous should be fine in couple days don't worry really unless your doctor like cut a major nerve in your mouth. Health Question & Answer
