Question about mouth breathing?!

Question: Question about mouth breathing.?
I always breathe from my mouth, and also have an under bite or class 3 malocclusion. If I try to breathe through my nose, I usually get to about 30 seconds or so. I feel like I can breathe a lot better and get more air with my mouth. How do I fix my problem, and will getting the nasal strips help make it easier to breathe through my nostrils.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The Class III bite usually indicates a narrow palate. The constricted airway started in infancy. The strips help (I'm a mouth breather as well, posterior cross bite). True correction is surgical in the form of jaw positioning and possibly nasal turbinate reduction. Too bad it wasn't caught early and your airway dealt with when you were 5. The class III bite may have been preventable. If you ever have kids, be on the lookout. My own daughter had a posterior crossbite starting at 3. I used nasal strips and a little bite correction. She now has great teeth.
