Question: How come it takes so long to put on braces.?
Today I get just my bottoms and they said it is going to take three hours! If they just have to cement them on and put in the wires and all that stuff, why does it take so long.?Health Question & Answer

Dental appliances have to be fitted almost perfectly.
Very crooked teeth need only be adjusted 1/10 of an inch. Noticably crooked teeth require much less adjustment, measured in 100ths of an inch.
The point is, if your dental appliances are ill-fitting, even by 1/100 of an inch, your teeth will align improperly to the archwire.

For me it only took 1 hour but maybe they are saying it can take up to 3 hours (if that is true it will probably take less time than they said it would!) Health Question & Answer
