Is there a way to stop my retainer hurting my teeth?!

Question: Is there a way to stop my retainer hurting my teeth.?
It's to align my jaws but it makes my teeth throb. I can barely talk, and when I do, it starts to hurt really bad. I find it hard to eat with it on, and when I take it off to eat, my teeth feel really weak. And when I wear it to bed, I wake up in the night because it feels too tight. What can I do.?Health Question & Answer

I would talk to your orthodontist if it seems the pain isn't normal. They may be able to adjust it. The one suggestion I have for you is leave it in as much as possible. If its hurting you, don't take it out. Just leave it in because your mouth will become used to quicker that way. also, if you take it out every time it hurts, you will be paying for attention to the pain. Honestly leave it in and take advil!
Good luck!Health Question & Answer

They will stop hurting after sometime. Anyway you have to wear them there is no escape from them. You will get fixed ones after 6 months. For more information on this you can read the following very informative article from a dental website
