Can you get tolerant to listerine?!

Question: Can you get tolerant to listerine.?
Tolerance, as I understand it, is when you need to take greater amounts of the drug to have the same effect. I'm wondering if listerine can become less effective the more you use it.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Listerine is antiseptic. It isn't antibacterial. Check to see if you can build resistance to antiseptics. Mechanical plaque control is the number one thing you can do to keep your oral health in good condition. This includes brushing every time you eat to prevent tooth decay, using dental floss one time a day and brushing one time a day extra extra well to help prevent periodontal disease, and seeing a dentist regularly for preventive perio and early detection and treatment of dental disease.Health Question & Answer

no. but listerine is hardly effective if you don't use adequate plaque removal techniques, like brushing and flossing(with real floss as opposed to floss sticks). Mechanical plaque removal is the best way to keep your mouth healthy. Listerine is used as an adjunct and WILL NOT mechanically remove plaque like brushing and flossiing. Health Question & Answer
