well, braces hurt after you get them on, but not while they are PUTTING them on. you usually have sore gums, your tongue might hurt a bit from the metal brushing against it, and your teeth will hurt from the pressure of the braces. you really cant do anything to heal it, but to make your gums feel better, you can rinse your mouth out with warm salt water. you can really eat anything but jello, or soup. hope it helped :]Health Question & Answer
Yeah, they hurt a lot for like a few weeks after you get them on. Most of the pain will be on your teeth, because that's where the pressure is. You might get a couple headaches They will feel very uncomfortable, but you'll get used to it, I'm sure. Try not to be very self-conscious about them either. I was, but it turns out it's not a big deal. When I got mine, I was taking Advil or like a handful of Tylenol to ease the pain. Nothing else really works. Don't eat things like gum, rock candy, any candy for that matter, or popcorn to keep them working best. Eat soft foods and avoid hard or spicy foods when you are having pain. I would always eat a jar of applesauce for dinner. One thing you must do, though, is always listen to your orthadontist. He/She knows best. I never did, and now I have no clue when I'm getting them off. That's the best advice I can give, so I hope I helped you out.Health Question & Answer
there is nothing really to take the pain away beside a pain releiver. it is best if you do take it before you get them because it will have already kicked in once they are on. the best things to eat after you get them on are yogurt, jello or pudding. because the braces tighten with cold things and loosen with hot things you want to be careful because your teeth are verysensitive when you first get them on.Health Question & Answer
okay , braces hurt like for the next 3 days. they dont hurt when they put them on, but afterwords they kill. like you can't chew, haha. i took advil and it helped :) and since they don't hurt RIGHT when you put them on, pig out on stuff that you won't be able to chew later on or just eat applesauce, icecream, etc.
just warning you, it is realllly hard to chew
