Will my bonded tooth be okay when I get a cleaning?! please answer?!
Question: Will my bonded tooth be okay when I get a cleaning.?! please answer.?
I am getting a cleaning the 18th cause I have braces but my front tooth has a bonding on it because I chipped it. Is getting a cleaning gonna ruin it.? If I tell the dentist I have a bonding do you think they'll make sure nothing bad happens to it.?
It's like I don't want a bonding but than again I NEED it. I haven't had one in a year, but when I get a cleaning i know the dentist always picks at your teeth with that sharp tool and everything.
Help, I'm really worried.Health Question & Answer

I am probably an old guy by your standards. I had a chipped front tooth bonded almost 20 years ago and it is still fine and I have my teeth cleaned every six months. I actually wondered the same thing the first time I went for a cleaning. Like the other answer said, tell the dentist's office about it before you start. Chances are the dental hygenist will clean your teeth before the dentist actually looks at them. The hygenist can probably spot it too, but she does not have the level of training the dentist does, so let her know. It will be fine.Health Question & Answer

You will be fine, just tell the dentist about the tooth ahead. He will know it's bonded the minute he looks into your mouth. As this is what he does for a living. He will be careful and you have no worries about him damaging your tooth that is bonded.Health Question & Answer
You are not the first person with bonding to get a cleaning. Simply remind the hygienist it is there and it will be fine.Health Question & Answer
