When is it okay to smoke?!

Question: When is it okay to smoke.?
I just got my wisdom teeth out about 2 hours ago. They said to wait at least 12 hours, but I want to know other peoples personal experiences and if they were okay after. Should I gargle with salt water afterwards.?

Thanks :)Health Question & Answer

just try to wait out the twleve hours..yes smoking may be addicting but maybe this will be the way to stop smoking. salt water toughens the gums it would be good to do so, but just plain and simple DONT SMOKE.wait twleve hours..good luckHealth Question & Answer

strictly follow the instrucions of the dentist otherwise you can end up having the dry socket and blieve me it is very painful condition. salt water prevents the infection but the simple warm water does not have any effect. For more information on this you can read the following very informative article from a dental website

It's never okay to smoke. Gargling with salt water will help to toughen up your gums but will not make the effects of smoking go away. Follow the instructions the dentist gave you. This could be an opportunity for you to try and quit smoking for good.Health Question & Answer

I think you should use salt water! I smoke and never really did as told when it came to waiting. I have never had my wisdom teeth taken out. I would say wait as long as you can!Health Question & Answer

I smoked after I had mine pulled and it slowed the healing process.Health Question & Answer
