Answers:
You should have had crowns placed on these root canals right after they were done. You're fortunate you didn't break any of the teeth.

If they're done properly, you probably will forget you have them within a few weeks. They won't feel any different to your body, and the only thing you'll notice is that they are slightly smoother than your real teeth.

If your teeth have cracked, be sure the dentist also puts posts in your teeth. This will strengthen the tooth, and help ensure it doesn't break off below the gum line.

also, ask your dentist about using pressed ceramic or possibly COMPOSITE crowns, and not porcelain/metal crowns. The porcelain/metal crowns will start to show a black line near your gum line as you get older and your gum recedes.

Remember, too, that crowns are only designed to last about 20 years, so keep this in mind when you are older.Health Question & Answer

They feel a little odd for a short while, because they take up some space where there was nothing or something jagged there before. And when your tongue or other tooth touches them you don't quite feel it. But shortly, you won't even notice, they will be just like teeth. You will be glad you have them, and will look much better too.

Yes, they will chip, so avoid eating things like hard candy, corn-nuts, etc.Health Question & Answer

They might feel a little different at first but after a few days you won't notice and they'll feel just like your normal teeth.
I've had an occasional crown that went right on, felt exactly like my original tooth and I never knew the difference.

No, they do not chip off. They're as hard as your normal teeth.Health Question & Answer

I have 2 crowns, I don't notice them at all now. The first one did annoy me a little and my current dentist (who is my friend and ex-roommate) replaced it, and now it is fine. He told me that the dentist who did that one did a lousy job, luckily I now have a good dentist.Health Question & Answer

I don't know what crowns feel like but I do know that they chip off, my mom's and sister's did all the time. And just so you know, braces don't hurt AT ALL while they are being put on. But they get sore in a about a day and it lasts around a week.Health Question & Answer

Crowns feel like your own teeth only smoother. If something doesn't feel right let the dentist know. For front teeth I recommend all porcelain crowns for aesthetics because porcelain fused to metal or gold produce a grey gumline no matter what the dentist tells you.Health Question & Answer

There are many different types of crowns available. You have the traditional porcelain fused to metal ones, that are just simply UGLY! There are a few things that I would suggest to you, one is to look for the training of the doctors. Not all dentists are the same, not all crowns are created the same and not all ceramists who make the crowns are created the same. There are many different types of porcelain available today, not all dentists know that. There are also many different types of restorations available which can be much more conservative. The back side of your upper teeth are where the strength of your teeth come from. If that area is cut back like in a crown situation, it can actually weaken your tooth, so there should be a great reason why someone recommends a crown to you in this age of dentistry. Unless the dentist is practicing in the dark ages of dentistry. Check his training and his continuing education and credentials and accolades. If your dentist has not discussed your overbite issue and is only looking at the crowns first, run, run run. It is like if you want to build a house, and you hire a contractor, instead of an architect and engineers, and the contractor says, OK, lets start building a house. He has no idea what the house is going to look like, and how the foundation of this house is. If the crowns are the old school crowns, yes, they can feel bulky, or weird, the newer materials are much nicer, life like, and very esthetic, but the dentists must be trained to understand which type of porcelain is best for your situation and also they need to know which materials to use for each one of them.Health Question & Answer
