I am having pain in my lower left socket and my jaw all the way to my ear is hurting today. It's not extreme pain and I haven't even taken any pain killers, yet. That's what my question is.. Is it normal to have slight pain in one socket four days after extraction.? also, I have been reading other questions about this, but I keep reading that a "dry" socket looks like a deep hole in the gum where the tooth used to be, but both of mine look like holes.? I'm confused. I am trying really hard to avoid a dry socket.Health Question & Answer

I'd see my dentist again. Although, I do remember that I had a rather persistent low level ache for several days after having dental work done on my molars or removal of wisdom teeth. I always tried to avoid the pain killers.
Another cure: Go to the library and get a good mystery book. I've found some funny mysteries. Mysteries don't all have to be killer-thrillers with dead bodies and blood and gore all over the place.Health Question & Answer

DONT GET DRY SOCKETS!!!!! DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO AVOID DRY SOCKETS! THEY ARE WAY MORE HORRIBLE THAN THEY SOUND

Call your dentist who took out your wisdom teeth right away right away, and say you think you may have symptoms of a dry socket. They'll take care of it and hopefully prevent dry sockets.Health Question & Answer

When I had my wisdom teeth taken out all four sockets hurt after the surgery and I actually had a nasty infection and all other sorts of things that went wrong. If the pain persists go back to the doctor. You don't want to mess around with a possible infection near your brain.Health Question & Answer
You do have dry socket, try put a Lipton tea bag on it, moist. the tea has something in it to help it heal, call your dentist and let him know, if you have anymore teeth pulled remember to put a moist tea bag on the spot immediately, then you will have no problemsHealth Question & Answer
It sounds like it is possibly dry socket, but it may be too early to tell. Unfortunately, this is something you REALLY should back to your Orthrodontist for as it can be quite painful/serious. Sorry that I couldnt be more help. I would call them right away.Health Question & Answer
Go back because it could be a dry socket or it could be that you gotten some food in the place and the skin done grows back over the food because I had this to happen and thay had to reopen the place back up and got the food out.Health Question & Answer
