Baby tooth? 10 pts.!?!

Question: Baby tooth.? 10 pts.!.?
I'm 16 years old and my baby tooth is finally extremely loose - I have a feeling it may fall out sometime tonight. The only problem is that there isn't another tooth underneath.
What can I do if the tooth comes out because actual implants aren't an option until I get out of high school and can pay for it myself.

Same problem!

I've been to plenty of people about this and they all say the same thing - keep it in there for as long as you can, and when something happens, we'll deal with it. The option to deal with it.? A dental implant.

They'll screw a rob into your jaw bone as a sort of artificial root. It's mainly for older people or people who have experienced injuries where the roots have disappeared. Or, in our cases, you simply don't have an adult tooth. Although recently, I had the adult tooth removed that was supposed to be in place of the baby tooth (it planted itself completely under my gums and into my jaw bone -- they had to remove a portion of the jaw bone to get it out... Blah). The adult tooth actually missed my baby tooth and went past the mid-line of my jaw.

Since implants aren't an option, though, I'd still see your dentist about other options. I've heard of "clip-on" sort of teeth and possibly a bridge.Health Question & Answer

If it's loose there is likely a permanent tooth under there, but you may not be able to see it.

If you have been told by a dentist that you do not have a permanent tooth in that position, then that is a different situation. Depending on which tooth it is, you may be able to get a bridge or temporary partial/flipper to fill in the space. If you get a bridge, I would recommend a Maryland/Carolina bridge or cantilever. These types will not effect the surrounding teeth as dramatically as a typical bridge. It is always better not to cut down the surrounding teeth, if there is nothing wrong with them.Health Question & Answer

The reason your baby tooth has finally come loose is because there IS another tooth underneath that has pushed it out. You just cant see or feel it yet but it must be on its way to make the other one move out. Don't forget to put it under your pillow. Its obviously been well looked after all these years so might be worth a bit extra to the tooth fairy lol :)Health Question & Answer

i had a similar problem! i had to baby teeth on the left side of my mouth and one of them was loose and i only had one tooth stuck way up in the top of my mouth( no way it was coming down on its own). after visiting the dentist and ortho and perio i was advised to have the baby teeth pulled and attempt to bring the one stuck in the roof of my mouth down. I was horrified because i had the two pulled at the same time but it was really not as bad as i thought and they were right at the front of my mouth. to be honest with you it space was barely noticeable, unless i laughed, and i do... a lot but everyone told me it looked cute. so dont stress to much, cause i'm sure its not as bad as you think. good luck and remember you can always get it fixed when you can afford itHealth Question & Answer

its okayy! dont panic
all people are different, so it may take time for others to loose their teeth, but just wait till it comes out ON ITS OWN.
And its okay if there isnt another tooth under it, it just might being takeing a looooong time, because im 14 and allmy babyteeth already come out like 3 or 4 years ago, but ask your dentist about it, callhim tomarrow morning..Health Question & Answer

My baby tooth just came out when I was 15, I'm 16 also. At first I thought my tooth wouldn't grow but after about a week, I saw a tooth start to come up. Your tooth could be like the little kids, it doesn't grow at first. Don't worry about it.Health Question & Answer
