I'm getting a little freaked out about these bumps!?!

Question: I'm getting a little freaked out about these bumps!.?
I have multiple bumps on the back of my tongue. I can only see a few, but I can feel a bunch more farther back. They also get larger towards the very back of my mouth. They also get more plentiful at the back of my tongue. They don't hurt, and they are the same color as my tongue. I don't feel sick, except my tonsils have been swelling lately. I've been looking online for hours to try to find what they are, because my parents won't take me to get them looked at.Health Question & Answer

Those bumps sound like totally normal structures, so don't worry! They are called "circumvallate papillae." also, at the back of your tongue you have lymphoid tissue, which is sort of toady looking. This is where immune responses come from when you get an infection. Both of these things are just part of your normal anatomy. :)Health Question & Answer

The bumps you describe are perfectly normal anatomy of the tongue. They are called papilla and the larger ones are circumvilate papilla. Try doing an internet search on the taste buds of the tongue and also check out tongue anatomy pictures and I think that your fears will be alleviated. Good LuckHealth Question & Answer
