Why does my spacers Hurt?!
Question: Why does my spacers Hurt.?
Ok, I am getting braces.
So far they,
->Took a model of my teeth and did scans
->Dentist took 2 of my permanant teeth out
Now I had an appointment with the orthodontix and they putted spacers on my teeth. 2 top Right. 2 Top left. 2 bottom left, 2 bottom right.
Eight altogether.
Why do they hurt so much.? And how long will the pain last.? I took paracetomal but it didn't seem to work!
also, are you allowed to have chocolate say like 'Penguin' while you have spacers on.?
Btw I am geting my braces on the 21st at 11am. How long will it take.

they hurt because the spacers are moving your teeth a little bit to create room they are probably hurting in the back of your mouth right.? cause i had them about 4 years ago and that's where they hurt. when you get your braces it's going to hurt all over because braces shift your teeth. it took about an hour two get mine on. i took motrin and tylenol all the time for about a week then they didn't hurt anymore but every time you go to get new bands put on it's going to hurt all over again. i would not get yellow bands on your braces because they make your teeth look yellow and white or any other pale colors like that can become discolored if you don't brush a lot like after every meal. pain comes with braces but the end results are greatHealth Question & Answer
Spacers essentially make room for your braces by shifting your teeth, thus the pain. The pain usually lasts 1-2 weeks and you shouldn't eat anything too sticky or chewy.

when I had my spacers they hurt for about five days.I just ate soft food and lots of soup. you can eat chocolate as long as it doesn't hurt to bad to eat it. Just don't eat anything sticky or it will pull them out. It takes about 45 minutes to have braces put on.I would go with the darker colors because the lighter ones can get stained.Health Question & Answer

i had spacers and now i have braces.
Everything pretty much is in pain for about 5 days,
There is nothing to worry about
