Well, there are almost always some dentists that take emergency patients at all hours. Call 1-800-dentist to find one.

Or, if it's ok for him to take ibuprofen, he can take 800mg of that. I know that it works really well for tooth pain.

But it sounds like he has an absess. Which can spread very quickly through the body, so to be safe, if you can't find a dentist that will see him, send him to the ER,.Health Question & Answer

Ear problems are common during root canals. Your dad should call his dentist and ask him what he can do to help it. Going to the ER may not do much, but if nothing else can be done, then he should at least try going there. He'll probably have to see a surgeon, for example, similar to one who takes out wisdom teeth. You should Google dental surgeons in your area to see if there's any he can see. I'm not saying he's going to need surgery, but they'll be able to see where the problem is and either treat it or refer him to another doctor.Health Question & Answer

I had the same problem, I needed dental work and I was in extreme pain. The ER won't be able to work on it, but they will give him Vicatin for the pain and he'll be drugged all weekend until he can get it fixed. also if you're close to any big cities, there's probably a dentist open on the weekend.Health Question & Answer

It is not from the root canal. The tooth from after a root canal is dead. So no harm can come from it. My main option would be that there is a possible absessed tooth. And pain medication will not help half the pain and only for a short amount of time. Go to a special dentist aside from the basic dentist that does root canals and so forth.Health Question & Answer

I too think you should take your dad to the dentist emergency room. Even if he refuses to go. If he does not cooperate with you, then talk to your mom about it and have her help you persuade your dad about it. All in all, the emergency is opt to help you no matter what.Health Question & Answer

If the pain is so bad where it is giving him a migraine headache he can go to the emergency room and they can give him a shot of Demerol which will significantly decrease the pain for a while.Health Question & Answer

my stepmother got dry socket and it traveled to her sinuses. tell your dentist if they dont figure out what is wrong with your dad you are going to sue them for malpractice. get an xray on his ear canals.Health Question & Answer
