Mom told me her secret. It's gross, but I do it when I eat out. Chew a lemon peel. You don't need a whole lot, but just a small bite and swish it around in your mouth. You can spit it out if you wish, but just chew it up really well to release all the oils.

Lemon is also good for removing the smell of garlic and onions from your hands.Health Question & Answer

Since dry mouth can increase bacterial buildup and cause or worsen bad breath, chewing sugarless gum can help with the production of saliva, and thereby help to reduce bad breath. Chewing may help particularly when the mouth is dry, or when one cannot perform oral hygiene procedures after meals (especially those meals rich in protein). This aids in provision of saliva, which washes away oral bacteria, has antibacterial properties and promotes mechanical activity which helps cleanse the mouth. Some chewing gums contain special anti-odor ingredients. Chewing on fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks, mastic gum or fresh parsley are common folk remedies. Sounds like you are well informed about bad breath. Up to 90 percent of bad breath comes from bacteria growing on the top of your tongue. So it is important to find the best way to clean the tongue to remove the bacteria and cure bad breath. The best way I know of is to use OraBrush because it is a combination brush and scraper. The brush part has bristles that are individual, pointed, flexible, and very soft so they can reach down into the deep indentations of the tongue and remove the bacteria. http://www.orabrush.com Check it out before you give up on curing bad breath.Health Question & Answer

Hi....If your bad breath issue is nothing more than the result of poor tooth brushing or as you infer, due to your diet...then brushing after each meal and using a mouth mint is your answer..."But"..if your bad breath is ongoing regardless of how well you practice oral hygiene and don't eat particularly odor causing foods, you then need to determine if the issue is an oral infection or a sinus condition or if it's a possible digestive issue or a combination of any of them.....If your dentist can't find the answer, your next stop should be at an ENT doctor, (Ear, Nose & Throat)...Sometimes a serious issue can exist even though their are no physical signs that cause pain or discomfort....Be smart, be safe...get an examination ASAP...God luck and I wish you well.
