I have a major tooth infection and it MIGHT of spread to the tooth next to it, so it can be a minor infection next to it. My dentist said antibiotics alone will not help the infection go away, and I would have tHealth Question & Answer

Huh.?.? Well I don't see the rest of your explanation, but it's normal for a dentist to open up the infected area and suction it out especially if you have an abcess. If it's a serious gum infection and you are seeing a periodontist then they may want to surgically help you out to get things under control. Sometimes they might even need to pull a tooth after they get the infection more under control, in order to save the rest of your teeth.
