I have braces too and I know how painful they are. I couldn't even have porridge without going "ouch". I did have Tylenol at first but the pain was too much for the pain killers that they didn't do anything so I gave up. I just live with it for a week and it's gone.Health Question & Answer

The next time you go to your braces consultant, ask if they have a "chewie". They gave me one of these and it helped dramatically.

A chewie is a piece of hard, flavored plastic that you can.. chew on, like a teething infant. It helps sooooooo much to relieve most of the pain.

Otherwise, not much you can do. Take some aspirin or some other pain reliever.Health Question & Answer

DON'T take Advil, it's an anti-inflammatory and inflaming is needed to make the process of braces work... i know Tylenol is fine, but I'm trying to see if aspirin is okay, because i want to be able to take Excedrin.Health Question & Answer
