Question: I'm getting braces in weeks how badly do they hurt.?
Do you have any advice for me for tips.? for example
how badly do they hurt
what colors are the best looking colors
how long do they hurt for
how badly dose it cut your lips/gums
are there certain ways i would move my mouth and it would hurt
please give me your advice and tips and how you felt when you got braces

Answers:
They hurt just a little when you first get them on, and when they tighten them. You're sore for a few hours, it's not painful or anything.
The best looking colors are pink or green. If you get clear, don't drink tea or pop, as it will stain them, and make the bands ugly.
When you get the rubber bands on, you can't open your mouth too far, or they'll snap, and that hurts =(
*A word of advice: WEAR YOUR RETAINER!!!!
I didn't, and my teeth went right back to normal.
Take about two advils a half hour before you get them put on. It helps TREMENDOUSLY.Health Question & Answer

first of all,dont be nervous for the pain,when i got mine,i took pain relievers,so it didnt hurt as much,they hurt quite a bit for like 3-4 days,like they were bruised,but then again,take pain relievers!but i dont think it cuts your gums/lips(depends on how you handle them,if you eat really hard food,then the ends will snap off and they'll be really sharp,therefore cutting your lips and gums,but there is a mouthwash that can cure them,i forgot what it was called,but you can ask your dentist)it will hurt if you tap your teeth or eat stuff,even if they are soft,so its best to eat porridge or oatmeal for a while until it doesnt hurt as much..as for the colors,well i suggest that you choose the ones that matches the colors that you usually wear...that's what i did..
