Question: RETAINER..DON'T I NEED ONE FOR MY TOP TEETH TOO.?
I had braces on both my top AND bottom teeth and got an impression for both my top AND bottom teeth, doesn't that mean that I need a retainer for my top teeth.? I asked the dentist this same question and he said that he doesn't know, he said that the teeth at the top will move even with the teeth at the bottom just as long as they're even....but that doesn't sound believable though. Give me your opinion, nothing sarcastic please =]Health Question & Answer

No you need a retainer for your top and bottom teeth. I have never heard that your teeth will move evenly.
I would double check with your orthodontist/dentist, or get a second opinion. You don't want to have paid all that money and then have your teeth move.
Rule of thumb is that you will have some type of retainer as long as you want to keep your teeth straight... even if you only wear it a coupe nights a week.
I would double check and tell them that you don't want your teeth to move!
