As someone who's had 5 crowns and two root canals, I can tell you that a malocclusion of your new crown can cause significant discomfort.

While your tooth can no longer feel hot or cold because of the root canal, you can still sense pressure through the periondontal ligament. If your crown is too high, it's injuring that ligament whenever you chew. Take some advil to help with the pain and see your dentist ASAP. The adjustment should always be free and only takes a few minutes.

Finally, it's sometimes difficult to get an adjustment right. Don't hesitate to go back until it feels perfect.

Good luck.Health Question & Answer

This is due to either the bite being off or a piece of cement under the gums which wasn't removed. Call your doc right away and have them check it out. Either problem is simply remedied.Health Question & Answer

The crown may need to be adjusted slightly. Go back to your dentist. Sometimes a new crown may be hitting the opposing teeth too hard causing the tooth to hurt.Health Question & Answer
