You will work long hours with good pay. You don't go home until the Dentist goes home. Some days will be 12 hour days while others half days and eight hours, depends the dental office. What is nice about being a hygienist is that you can travel to different countries and help the poor to take care of their teeth. I know some dental offices that travel to Mexico, Honduras, Brazil and other counties for two weeks.
As for now, you can prepare yourself with getting to know the teeth, what their called and each teeth have a number. Children's teeth are classed as letters and adult teeth as numbers. Educate yourself about how to take care of your teeth and how cavities form.Health Question & Answer

Brush very gently. Get your parents to buy a power toothbrush (like crest spin brush) if they can afford it. Then gently hold it to your teeth and let it do the work for you.

Always use a fluoride toothpaste (if it has ADA on it then it is the best. But Crest and colgate or aquafresh are good brands).
Start using dental floss everyday. Any brand and any time of the day. Dont snap it in. Put it in gently and make a C shape around the teeth.

take science classes in high school. Like chemistry and biology. Math and more so science are improtant in the dental field.Health Question & Answer
