Why are my teeth so sore after I have my braces tightened?!

Question: Why are my teeth so sore after I have my braces tightened.?
I have had braces on for 8 months now and everytime I go back and have them tightened, my teeth stay sore for about 3 days and I can hardley eat. They hurt too. I know they told me that it would hurt but what exactly is going on with my teeth when they do that and why is it so painful.? Thanks :-)Health Question & Answer

The movement of your teeth also moves the roots connected to them, which in turn pulls on your nerves. Hang in there, it really is worth it. Your teeth will look BEAUTIFUL when you're done.Health Question & Answer

I had braces for 5 years; I feel for you.
Depending on what the orthodontist is doing, the first two weeks are the WORST. Try some Advil (Ibuprofen). That should really help. One month he messed with my teeth, and I couldn't eat anything but soup for three weeks. Regular brushing and flossing should help. Flossing more so. I hope that helps.Health Question & Answer

That is normal, it is the pressure that straightens your teeth !Health Question & Answer
