What helps a mouth ulcer (canker sore) ?!

Question: What helps a mouth ulcer (canker sore) .?
I saw a commercial once for these things you stick over the top of them. does anyone know what they're called.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I recall seeing that commercial a few months ago, but I have yet to find the product in stores! However, I personally find that an ointment called Lysine is effective in shortening the duration of the canker sore. Some also apply warm, salty water to it, but anything with concentrated salt has a risk of scarring.Health Question & Answer

I get canker sores CONSTANTLY for seemingly no reason, and I have yet to find a 100% effective cure for them, although there are a few things you can do to help ease the pain and (perhaps) shorten healing time. Firstly, you need to know the cause of the canker sore, if it developed as a result of an injury, you can try applying apple cider vinegar to it, and while it will sting initially, it should heal faster because the acv kills the specific bacteria that causes those kinds of canker sores. If your sores are related to an acidic diet, do not use acv because it will make it worse!

You can also try splitting open an aspirin and then placing the cut side on the canker, and that will sometimes relieve the pain temporarily.

I have also tried over-the-counter remedies like Orajel, which does not do much to cure the canker or get rid of the pain, because it is just an oral analgesic and it washes away with your saliva within minutes. There are also these little sticky spot things called Cank-Aids that you can get at most drug stores, and you stick them right on your canker sore and they're supposed to heal them in 8 hours, but they expand like crazy when wet in your mouth and it feels like you have a huge wad of Jell-O sticking on the side of your mouth, they taste bad, and every time I used one it made the sore worse! And they take FOREVER to go away.

Hope this helps, even though it was long!Health Question & Answer
