The spacers are put to create the space for putting bands. When the space is created, mostly they come out themselves or they can be easily removed by dentist. No shots are needed for that. no ive had spacers before it doesnt hurt and ders no shots or anything. i now have braces idk if u hav dem since u have spacers but it wont hurt or anything and ders no shots or anything. hope dis helpsHealth Question & Answer
