Hi I am a dental nurse and you should definitely try to get the permanent crown on as soon as possible. The pain you are feeling is just sensitivity as the dentist had to cut and shape your tooth to fit the new crown and it is a little closer to the pulp chamber now...once you get the crown on it will cover and protect the tooth and you wont have any more pain. As long as you are keepig your mouth clean, brushing twice a day and flossing then you shouldnt have any problems with it and it should not decay. You will not harm your baby...please be aware that teeth and gums are a lot more sensitive during pregnancy it is to do with the immune system being more active to protect your baby so now is the time to be more stringent with your oral health, your gums may bleed a little this is normal for pregnant women and nothing to worry about. Hope this helps xxHealth Question & Answer

You won't hurt baby. But you should definitely hunt down your dentist (or another dentist willing to clean up the other guy's mess) and see him or her as soon as possible.Health Question & Answer
