Is it possible that if I brush my teeth to much they will get yellow-er?!
Question: Is it possible that if I brush my teeth to much they will get yellow-er.?
I brush my teeth four times a day.
Once in the morning, once when I get home form school, once in the shower and then right before I go to bed.
I always use warm to hot water, and I don't brush hard.
But since I'm always brushing my teeth and always using mouth wash, my teeth haven't gotten any whiter from when I started this the beginning of November. If anything, they've gotten yellow.
I have a dentist appointment next month, but until then I'm asking here.
Thank you.Health Question & Answer

No, they cannot get more yellow, but if you are not careful, you CAN wear away the enamel...use a soft-bristle brush...some teeth are just not overly-white...and so many celebrities and now, every-day people whiten their teeth that what you often see is FAKE!
A toothpaste that whitened by teeth by the end of the first tube was the Crest Whitening Cinnamon Rush...I don't know about other kinds of Crest Whitening, but I like Cinnamon and got good results...it works better than Colgate, which I have used since I was a kid!
Coffee, tea, soft drinks and some medications can stain teeth, so you have to look at those things as well. Unfortunately, I was given tetracycline when I was 12, and it caused my teeth to yellow. Now, doctors know better.
Your toothbrush should be changed every 2-3 months, or whenever you notice that the bristles are beginning to bend and wear down.Health Question & Answer

Teeth aren't naturally white. A good clean set of natural teeth will have a slight yellow stain to them. If you want them white and to look like an American news reader you have to have them whitened.
You say that you are paranoid about your teeth so you are probably seeing them more yellow then they actually are.Health Question & Answer

Brushing more often is keeping your teeth cleaner and preventing yellow stains. Rinse withhydrogen peroxide it is a known teeth whitener. also try brushing with a salt and baking soda mixture it cleans the teeth like a cleanser. Just rinse well after wards. The dental hygienist recommended using crest whitening strips to whiten the teeth, my daughter has used them and they do seem to work.Health Question & Answer
Brushing your teeth shouldn't make them yellow-er. you may want to check your tooth paste and make sure that its specifically for whitening and brightening your smile.
