nope. it doesn't hurt as much as i thought it would..
the dentist will use this tweeser like thing (forgot what they were called. xD) and break the brackets off after removing the wire.
it's quick and easy.
BUT when they tried to remove one of my brackets, it was harder to remove than others and it felt like they were trying to yank off my teeth.

It hurts a lot WHEN they're taking them off but afterward it doesn't hurt.
Everyone says your teeth will feel "slimy" though mine never did. They felt rough like sandpaper. Luckily I got them cleaned the following day. LOLHealth Question & Answer
