How annoying is it to need real advice and have a "I think I know it all" dental student answering you?!

Question: How annoying is it to need real advice and have a "I think I know it all" dental student answering you.?
I am a Certified Dental Assistant and Certified Dental Laboratory Tech with over 10 years actual experience working in the field of dentistry.

Tonight I have dedicated my time to the greater good.

I have been trying to cover the tracks of this one particular dental assisting student who has been throwing out her uneducated opinion all night in this dental forum. All I can say is that I think the people asking questions in this topic are looking for experienced advice and should not take the advice of anyone who is still jsut a student spending her time on Yahoo Answers instead of studying Dentistry.

How about we settle this now just in case Debster is going to read this one too!

Let's take a vote. If you are going to ask a question in this category, do you want an answer from a dental student who has NO EXPERIENCE and thinks she already knows everything or would you prefer she keep her mouth shut and her bad advice and opinion to herself.?Health Question & Answer

I'll take experience....Health Question & Answer

I would personally rather have advice from a professional. However, I would seek out a professional rather than post a question here.

This is a public forum though and everyone is entitled to say what they want to. I read some of the answers from the person you are referring to and I really didn't see anything wrong with any of them. She is giving her advice just like you are.And perhaps she is here on the dental category to learn something herself.? It's my opinion that the person asking will be able to use their judgment and be able to look for the best solution by reading all of the responses.

Remember that no matter how much experience one claims to have, do we really KNOW that anyone is being honest about it.?Health Question & Answer

Experience is always better ;)

I understand your frustrations though! I have been trying to cover some tracks from what seems like people posing as dental professionals answering orthodontic related questions. Pretty frustrating that people are telling others to not wear retainers and not follow doctors orders, etc. I've been doing this for about 10 years now as well, and have certifications, awards, experience, etc as well.

I just think some people are either lonely or bored, and want to cause some drama!

It's sad, but keep up your good work. I have read some of your answers and you do give very sound, honest, and EXPERIENCED advice!!!!!! Thank you for doing that, because there are a lot of people that do need help.

Keep up your good work, and know that it is appreciated!

Take care!Health Question & Answer
