I have puffy gums, how do I get them back to normal?!

Question: I have puffy gums, how do I get them back to normal.?
I have puffy gums, how do I get them back to normal.?
I've visited the dentist already and he said I had puffy gums, I got told to brush my gums. It hurts when I brush them, but I still do. I use a soft toothbrush which I was given by the dentist. It's been 2 weeks and nothings changed, my dentist said it will clear up in a week or so. I know I'm brushing them properly. But my dentist said, it takes time when I visited him about this. Is there another way of toughing up my gums.? They use to be healthy until I got braces, but it's only puffy at the bottom of my teeth, in between 6 teeth. I got my teeth done at the Orthodontist too and he said who ever put my brackets on for me did them wrong, that's probably why my gum is puffy. I'm getting them done again soon, but I want stronger gums at my next visit. Or else it will be hard for my Orthadontist to put my brackets on. I want healthy gums again, any suggestions.?Health Question & Answer

i had a similar problem it just takes time, mine were really bad, i had them professionally cleaned by my dentist and then i used a mouth wash everyday and even when it hurt to brush i did so anyway, after about 2 weeks it cleared up, try getting a good mouthwash and see if it helps.Health Question & Answer

This is acheived by gently increasing the blood flow up onto the lower teeth and down onto the upper teeth.
Use a gentle sweeping motion from inside the cheek bringing the brush up onto the tooth and from the upper palette down onto the tooth. Make sure you do not miss a max of a 36 hr period w/o doing this and you'll see results.
Don't forget to eat your leafy greens-gums need the vitamins.Health Question & Answer

well use mouth wash, change toothepaste or use what the dentist gave/requested and brush them 3 times a day, make sure to brush your cheeks, gums, roof, tongue, teeth (after flossing and mouth wash) then after you brush them, mouth wash again.... just try a tooth paste for 2 or 3 weeks, if nothing improved (keep the toothe paste) and try another... but remain using the one the dentist gave/requested... be sure to ask them which toothepaste!Health Question & Answer

salt water does good ! but reaally try brushing your gums.. even if it hurts. if it continues it could mean you have an infection of some sort so just keep checkin on them =]Health Question & Answer

Try using a good antiseptic mouthwash, and gargling with salt water.
