I got my braces two weeks ago and I still have my gap. My orthodontist said that my gap will close in about two to three months or less. Already it does look a little bit smaller...a little bit.
But it really just depends on how big your gap is, what kind of braces you have, and if you have them for any other reasons too. Since I also have a slight overbite, my braces are fixing that too, so maybe that's why it's going to take me longer. Since yours is smaller, I doubt it will take long at all.Health Question & Answer

Well I never had braces when I was a kid, but I am a Dentist. It takes only a few months almost 6 to 8 months before a gap closes. Your teeth start to move slow when you have braces. That is why you must wear them for about 2 or 3 years.

It depends on what type of braces you are getting.
My friend had a big gap and she had the ceramic braces and it closed in like 2 weeks.
I have braces and i got the regular metal kind and i have a tiny gap and it was gone within a few weeks also.Health Question & Answer

it should take about a couple of months . some people's teeth move faster than others . but it shouldn't take so long since you can even see it . it took a month for a gap i had to close .
