Question: I might have to get my jaw broken to fix a large over bite, and i have ALOT of questions.?

1. Will it hurt.?
2. Will i have to wear a stupid looking think om my jaw.?
3. How affective are the braces (im getting braces and if they dont work my jaw is going to be broken)
