SMOKERS: is it worth it to smoke while having braces?!

Question: SMOKERS: is it worth it to smoke while having braces.?
i smoke daily like 4 cigarettes a day, and i know for sure if i keep it that way when i get my braces off theyll be stained in most of the places and white where the brackets were.(im getting them tomorrow)if i do this ill prob get my teeth whitened or something so u cant notice. but still, if im smoking this low amount, (and i dont even smoke evryday like 5 days a week average.) if i smoke that much is the staining gonna be that bad.? what i think will happen is my teeth will get a little bit stained then there will be some white spots, and that gets taken care of by whitening my teeth, so its no big deal right.? idk im freaking out, HELP ME. lol then again theres my parents finding out too but ill be like 17 years old i dont give a f**kHealth Question & Answer

how about you don't smoke at all!Health Question & Answer

Yes, you most likely will have some staining after the braces are removed. Cigarette staining is mostly removable when people are light smokers. But the concern I want to mention to you is not now, but if you continue to smoke over the years, staining is the least of your worries about your teeth. Smokers are twice as likely to lose their teeth. It is usually due to gum disease. Smoking speeds up the bone loss around your teeth. And also as you keep smoking over the years the teeth start to discolor on the inside and that can't be removed.Health Question & Answer
