well i was being stupid and put an earring in my mouth and was chewing on it, but not hard. and then i bit down on it with my back tooth and it kinda sent a sharp pain through my tooth so i looked at it in the mirror and it has a tiny grey dot on the indent of my back tooth. what is it.?Health Question & Answer

Idk if it's a cavity. It's a possibility that you just got a little piece of metal on your teeth. And yes i think that your orthodontist would've been observant and noticed if you had a cavity. Or course it's not their job to notice those things. I think i would hold out until the 24th unless, you continue to get pain in your tooth. If you eat and still get that sharp pain then i would go to the dentist sooner. Or just call your dental office and ask for their opinion.Health Question & Answer

I seriously doubt that you put a hole through your tooth.
A grey dot or speck could be a cavity. A bright white spot is an indication of a cavity as well.
