Answers:
Here's something really REALLY important to remember... Orthodontists don't tighten your braces, they adjust them. The old practice of tightening is very different and those types of braces haven't been around for years.

People still use the term 'tightening' because after your braces are adjusted your teeth may feel 'tighter'.

On your first adjustment, most likely all they will do is change your ligatures, which simply involves them popping the old ones off and the new ones on. It takes about 5 mins in total and there's little to no discomfort. It may feel a little like they're tugging, but I don't usually experience this myself except for one or two teeth.

I doubt you'll get a new archwire at your first one, but if you do, it's just an extended version of the above - they simply pop the old wire out and put a new one in before they put the new bands on. If they change the wire, it will be thicker and they'll clip it to the length of the last bracket, just like they did the first time.Health Question & Answer

most of the time they don't gived you a new wire but if they do here's the steps:
1)remove the colored part of the brackets
2)remove the top/bottom/both wires
3)inspect
3.5)if dirty, they clean it
4)put in a shorter wire
5)put in new colored part of the bracket, your choice of color
6)all done!
sometimes they'll tug if they hve trouble with a bracket but it doesn't hurt that bad
they usually take about 10-25 min depending
get any color you want, football team color, fav colors, etcHealth Question & Answer

1. they take off the rubber bands
2. then they take out the wire
3. they put in a thicker wire
4. then they let you choose some new colors
5. all done

to you second question
no it doesnt hurt at all

to you third question
yes if they have trouble taking off the rubber bands

to you fifth question
it takes about 20-30 minutes

to you 6th question
I have pink and blue too you should get pink and yellow or blue and redHealth Question & Answer

They take the little colored rubber bands off of the bracket and place a new wire in the bracket (it should be the same but a new one) and put new rubber bands over the wire to hold it in place. It's not really painful but you do feel it. When they take the wire off you will feel relief on your teeth but when they put the new wire on you'll feel the pressure on your teeth again. It doesn't really take that long really. Ask them to view all of their colors and they would have a box full of them. Green and pink.? Blue and silver.? Green and yellow.?Health Question & Answer

the first few times it will be the same wire... your teeth will hurt slightly for a couple days afterwards...... i suggest taking some ibuprofen or advil after..... i don't really remember the step by step process but you'll have a good excuse to complain for up to a week afterwards.... but it's no big deal.Health Question & Answer

step by step.? not so much.
its not that bad, RELAX! your teeth will be super sensitive the first few times. if you feel that they are too tight at the dentist office make sure you say something there, to save your mom a trip back later. ice cream helps loads. they tug on the bands not your teeth. about 30 minutes. PURPLE! thats my favorite color. try not to get white, it stains really fast.Health Question & Answer

they put in the wiire, hurts for about a week or so.
dont get white, gets dirty and it just doesnt look so nice.Health Question & Answer
