getting braces doesn't hurt while your getting them on;
but your really sore afterwards;
&& it hurts to eat.
and as for the fillings;
they give you a numbing shot;
before the fillings,
that sort of pinches,
but you shouldn't worry about either of them(:

The fillings don't hurt, that's for sure. Getting braces hurts only if your dentist isn't doing soemthing right, like stabbing your gums with the wires or something. It doesn't hurta for a 'little' while after you're done getting your braces. But maybe like 30 minutes later that's when you'll really start to feel the pain, and you can't even eat a piece of rice. But you have to chew some gum for as long as you can so that your gums get used to the pain, and then you won't feel it at all for the next day or two.

Well braces don't hurt when you get htem on, it's afterward when they hurt. As for fillings, you get a numbing shot (they stick a needle in your gum and it feels like someone is pinching you REALLY hard!) It doesn't hurt that much though suprisingly.Health Question & Answer
