Why does my dentist keep?!

Question: Why does my dentist keep.?
saying my braces will be off, in 2 months then when 2 months roll around there not.
I have a slight over-bite, and my teeth have been straight for 2 years now, and i have had them for 3, and I'm still not getting them off.
Why is this.?
Why hasn't my over-bite been fixed.?
And, did the rubber-bands help for you.?Health Question & Answer

He probably figures you're paying so much for them, he wants them to be as straight as possible. Mine moved in two weeks in a direction they didn't want so right now I have to go in in another two weeks. I'm down to the final appointments but there are little things he wants to fix before they're off and it's too late. I wouldn't worry too much.

Oh, and the rubberbands kind of helped me, but not much since my bottom jaw isn't aligned properly with my top, but they did as much as they could.Health Question & Answer

First of all, let me say that I've worn braces twice in my life, once at the normal age, 12-14, and once when I was 30 in the middle of TMJ treatment. I suspect your teeth are not moving at the rate the dentist expected them too, so it's taking more time than expected. Ask the dentist! His professional knowledge and personal experience with your teeth and braces should put him in a good position to answer your question and he is being paid enough to answer questions! And yes, I wore rubber braces both times and they helped both times, although sometimes they did make my teeth ache. Sometimes I felt like grinding my teeth to distract myself from the pain, but knew that would be detrimental to the outcome so I didn't do it.Health Question & Answer
