You should tell your parents. It's not really your fault that your retainer broke, and your parents will be really upset if you tell them a long time from now when nothing can be done.

But to fix it. (Keep in mind I'm really not reccomending doing it yourself, but you say you want advise, so...) I would NOT use anything like superglue or an adhesive like that. It could either be toxic in your mouth, or melt your retainer and ruin it even worse. I don't know, if you can read the lable and the glue says its nontoxic and safe to use on plastic, you may be able to, but I would still be scared to use it. I would try taping it on, actually. It sounds crazy, but since it is your back tooth it may work and won't be as noticible. But that would be really annoying in your mouth, so...

Well, good luck anyway. Actually if I really really couldn't go to the ortho I would probably wear the retainer without that last tooth on. I would hope that even without it the general retainer would be structurally sound and able to keep the rest of your teeth in line. But again, I would visit the ortho. Take responsibility for the accident, and perhapse save up for a new retainer. They shouldn't cost more than 90 bucks or so.Health Question & Answer
