Most likely he wouldn't say anything to your parents if he noticed, but I don't feel like he will for some reason.

It depends on how long you had purged for. The way the dentist will be able to tell is if you did it enough times for the stomach acid to discolor or harm your teeth. If he can tell for sure, he may ask you some questions so be well aware of what he is saying to you. If he figures it out, he most definitely will tell your parents.

Bulimia is a serious problem, and you should talk to your parents so they can get you the help you need.Health Question & Answer

Bulimia leaves acid in your mouth which can erode the enamel on your teeth. He probably won't be able to tell from that short amount of purging. It probably didn't erode enough enamel to be noticeable.

However, I'm guessing you've read a lot of what bulimia can do to you including rupturing your esophagus and killing you. So you really want to address the issues that are causing you to binge and purge.

Why not talk to a counselor at school about setting up some counselling with a local county health agency.? You don't need to tell your counselor what your issues are. The health agency won't tell your parents either.

Good luck. I hope you overcome your bulimia. It can be done when you increase your self esteem. These things are really hard to fight on your own, so get some help, okay.?Health Question & Answer

Make a joke about how much soda and lemonade you've been drinking... hopefully he will assume any enamel deterioration is due to that.

On a more serious note though I have no idea if a dentist would be able to draw a conclusion such as bulimia when deterioration could be due to any number of bad habits.

It also depends on the relationship between the dentist and your parents I would suppose.Health Question & Answer

He might be able to tell if it really messed up your teeth, but if it didn't do much damage than you should be fine. Or just blame it on like to much junk food. But I'm glad you stopped:]Health Question & Answer

Most likely they can not till b/c it's short-term. You should not be forcing yourself to vomit anyways. Be happy with the way you look & embrace your beauty. ;)Health Question & Answer
