My little sister just got her braces off and she is wearing a retainer but she said her teeth are really sensitive.. is that normal.?Health Question & Answer

Yes, completely normal. The brackets are basically cemented to the teeth, so it's not the most pleasant feeling to get them off (there's a lot of pulling involved.) also, her teeth have been moved around and straightened by the braces, then held in place there, it's a very odd feeling when they finally come off, but nothing to worry about. Any discomfort should go away after a few days. also, make sure she wears her retainer as often as instructed; if she goes to long without wearing it, her teeth might start to move again and not only will it be painful to try to put the retainer back in, but there's a possibility of needing braces again!Health Question & Answer
Oh yesss girl! i had braces for 3.5 years. I was sooo happy when they finally took them off. But it was really sore..and my gums were swollen and it hurt to brush, etc. And then you have to deal with that retainer which sucks when your teeth are already sore. it will be okay in a about a weekHealth Question & Answer
