Question: I am getting braces on Thursday is it scary.?

It isn't scary at all! All they do is glue the brackets (the part that you see on the surface of people's teeth) to each tooth, then put the wire on, followed by the elastics (the coloured part you see on people's braces) to hold the wire in place.
It takes about an hour (at least back when I got mine) because they have to be careful when gluing on the brackets and the glue has to dry.
It's only painful at first because the wire is pulling your teeth together. The brackets on top of your teeth do not hurt. They do not drill holes anywhere. Each time you go to visit the orthodontist, they tighten the wire and change your elastics (have fun with the colours, depending how old you are, but it's fun to do patterns and rainbows ;D). When your wire gets tightened your teeth will hurt, but only for a day or two, depending on how tight they make the wire.
It really isn't anything to worry about and you'll get used to it in no time ;)Health Question & Answer

It kind of depends on who you dentist is like my friends said that you take pictures first and then you do this and that and i didn't do most of the things they did. It is not that scary well until they show you what your teeth will look like if you don't brush right.
I suggest getting a frosty from Wendy's after wards because when i got mine it numbed it for a good 3 hours and eating things that are cold like ice-cream and hot like macaroni numbs it for a bit.Health Question & Answer

SUPER easy! I recommend taking some Advil before you go into the appointment. The pressure after the initial placement can be a little uncomfortable. Its not scary at all. The dentist is just going to but on some cheek retracts, then go through the process of bonding each bracket on each tooth. Its a little time consuming, but not scary at all.Health Question & Answer
well i got them on today and it did kind of hurt when they put there 2 big things in my mouth to spread it apart so he can put braces on also after that my lips were really chaped.. BRING A CHAPSTICK!!!
