If teeth are stained, will brushing and flossing more than twice a day help remove the stains?!

Question: If teeth are stained, will brushing and flossing more than twice a day help remove the stains.?
I have, what my dentist said, are water stains on my teeth. The last town I lived in, the water system had too much flouride in it and because of that, my teeth got water(flouride) stains on them. I plan to get braces soon to fix my side, overbite on my top teeth. I usually brush my teeth before I go to bed, and when I wake up in the morning and I floss once a day, usually before bed. Will keeping up with this routine help get rid of the stains, or am I just pretty much stuck with them.? I don't know if whitening systems would help or not, because I just have white blotches on my teeth. Like the whole tooth isn't stained, just have white blotches from the flouride.Health Question & Answer

Those white blotches are called calcification. You will pretty much have them forever. You can bleach and that will help. also, do hydrogen peroxide rises. Rinse (never swallow!) for 45sec to a minute twice a day and you will notice a slight difference. Your brushing and flossing is great, keep that up, but it won't erase the calcification spots on the front of them. Crowns and Veneers are are the only 100% guarantee of success on that one.Health Question & Answer

It can certainly help to brush and floss a lot, but I also think that it depends on the type of toothpaste you use. Try using a whitening toothpaste. To whiten my teeth I use baking soda.. I know it sounds weird and it doesn't taste that great but that's what people use to use in order to whiten their teeth, Plus its perfectly safe Try that and you should see a little difference in about 2 weeks. also you could try Crest Whitestrips. I asked my dentist and they said they were perfectly safe and they don't cause sensitivity. They also suggested that I chew trident white. Trident gum in itself is sugar free and contains Malitol and Xylitol which help fight cavities, and it has a whitening agent in it as well. It also tastes just the same as the other chewing gums on the market. I hope this helps! :-)Health Question & Answer
