No not everyone has to wear rubber bands. they are to help with the straightening of the teeth or the alligning of the jaw. It may or may not be the final phase of your braces, depending on how severe your teeth were / are. Not everyone has to wear them because not everyone has both top and bottom braces. It also depends on why you have braces on whether you get rubber bands or not if you do get them it will be somewhere in the middle to end but dont get your hopes up teeth move faster back to where they were than to where they havent so one day forgetting rubber bands equal about a week more of them.Health Question & Answer

Not everyone has to wear rubber bands because not everyone has bottom braces. The rubber bands are just to correct an over bite or under bite. They help to pull the teeth in the direction the orthodontist thinks will help. i have to wear those.......i wore those like halfway into the time and then got to stop wearing them and now i have to wear them again.
