What is this round bump on the bottom left of my jaw?!

Question: What is this round bump on the bottom left of my jaw.?
When I bring my chin down to my chest and I feel kind of underneath on the left side of my jaw, the is a round lump. I can make it move around. I think there is another on my right side but its harder to find and not as big. What are these things.? Are they supposed to be there.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
What you're feeling is probably your submandibular lymph nodes. They can occur on one or both sides. Some people have them, some don't. I have both of mines. When you get sick, these lymph nodes will temporarily get larger.
It can be a normal thing to have, but keep monitoring them to check if they're still there and if they have grown or shrunk in size.Health Question & Answer

It depends on the location..if the bumps are bilaterally located underneath your jaw at the angle of the mandible (where you lower jaw begins to go up at the back of your mouth) they are likely your submandibular glands, which are supposed to be there, and I'm guessing that is what you are feeling. If the bumps are in a different location, it could possibly be a lymph node, but without being able to look at if in person I can't tell you for sure.Health Question & Answer
